Three fields the desk needs
The desk's fastest path to publishing a correction is the same in every shift: a URL pointing to the desk's article, an item the reader believes is wrong, and a pointer to a publisher or governing body source. Send to [email protected].
URL
The full URL of the article you are correcting. Internal links welcome.
Item
The sentence or row you believe is wrong. A direct quotation speeds the desk's review.
Source
A pointer to a publisher or governing body source the desk can re-verify against. Tier A or B preferred.

Contact FAQ
How the four desks coordinate on a single request
Below is the desk's working method for four-desk coordination on a single reader request.
What a multi-desk request looks like
A reader requests a correction on the homepage, plus a desk review on the related coverage, plus a partnership discussion on the editorial standard. The request spans all four desks; the desks coordinate to produce a single reply.
How the desks coordinate
The corrections editor receives the request first. The corrections editor routes the request to the other three desks based on the request's content.
How each desk contributes
The corrections desk owns the correction. The story tips desk owns the related-coverage review. The partnerships desk owns the editorial standard. The reader account desk owns the inbox reply.
How the reply is assembled
The reply is assembled by the corrections desk. The reply carries the corrections desk's primary answer plus the contributions from the other three desks.
How the reply is documented
The reply is documented on the corrections log. The other three desks' contributions are documented on their own beats.
How the desks escalate
A multi-desk request that needs to escalate routes through the editorial board. The board meets weekly; escalation reply times are published on this page.
